Winter is Upon Us at Baker Woods
Winter is upon us in the Baker Woods. A nearly 30 inch snowfall and several lesser snowfalls made for some of the best early season skiing we've seen in years.
Recommendations for winter use:
We request that you wear skis or snowshoes if there is in excess of 6 inches of snow near the BWP parking area.
Skiing on the Hemlock Hill Trail is best for experienced skiers with at least a foot of snow. Wide skis with metal edges are best for our backcountry trails.
Icy trails with little or no snow cover are safest with traction devices such as Kahtoola Microspikes...and trekking poles.
We of course recommend that you bring a compass, map, warm clothes, water and a cell phone...and please sign in at the kiosk.
We look forward to seeing you this winter!
