Winter is Upon Us at Baker Woods

Winter is upon us in the Baker Woods. A nearly 30 inch snowfall and several lesser snowfalls made for some of the best early season skiing we've seen in years.

Recommendations for winter use:

  • We request that you wear skis or snowshoes if there is in excess of 6 inches of snow near the BWP parking area.

  • Skiing on the Hemlock Hill Trail is best for experienced skiers with at least a foot of snow. Wide skis with metal edges are best for our backcountry trails.

  • Icy trails with little or no snow cover are safest with traction devices such as Kahtoola Microspikes...and trekking poles.

We of course recommend that you bring a compass, map, warm clothes, water and a cell phone...and please sign in at the kiosk.

We look forward to seeing you this winter!
